Merrimack County ranked third among counties in New Hampshire by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Merrimack County residents was $35,807 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 58,452 households with a population of 149,917.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Rockingham County with $42,549 per year after adjusting for inflation – $6,742 more than Merrimack County. It had 121,045 households with a population of 306,359.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Coos County with $26,003 per year after adjusting for inflation – $9,804 less than Merrimack County. It had 13,768 households with a population of 31,741.
