Merrimack County ranked third among counties in New Hampshire by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Merrimack County residents was $34,545 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 57,843 households with a population of 149,452.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Rockingham County with $40,896 per year after adjusting for inflation – $6,351 more than Merrimack County. It had 120,147 households with a population of 305,129.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Coos County with $25,028 per year after adjusting for inflation – $9,517 less than Merrimack County. It had 13,720 households with a population of 32,038.
