The University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats recently won against Towson University in week two of the football season.
The Wildcats won 26-14 against Towson, and this victory marks UNH coach Sean McDonnell’s 100th career Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) victory, joining retired coaches Andy Talley of Villanova and Jimmye Laycock of College of William & Mary as the third coach in league history to achieve this accomplishment, according to University of New Hampshire Athletics.
The win over Towson brings the Wildcats up to 2-0 for the season.
"UNH Wildcats top Towson for McDonnell's 100th CAA Football win,” University of New Hampshire said in a Sept. 13 Tweet.
Sophomore quarterback Bret Edwards threw for two touchdowns, and completed 24 of his 32 passes for 261 yards. Sophomore Dylan Laube scored two touchdowns, rushed 11 times for 77 yards and also caught two passes for 13 yards. The Wildcats' defense caught four interceptions against Towson with grad student safety Evan Horn catching his first two interceptions for the season. Freshman safety Noah Stansbury and senior safety Pop Bush caught the other two interceptions.
The Wildcats returned to action on Sept. 18, beating Lafayette of the Patriot League, 19-13, and will face Pittsburgh in a Football Bowl Subdivision match-up on Saturday, Sept. 25.
