New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick announced this week the injury designations for a few key players.

One of those players is starting offensive lineman Trent Brown, representing a key part of the offensive line for the team.

In an interview with The Sports Hub, Belichick said the Patriots would "for sure have three players out" on the offensive line, then mentioned Isaiah Wynn (COVID-19 reserve), Shaq Mason (out) and Trent Brown (injured reserve) in an Oct. 10 Tweet from Andrew Callahan. "Sounds like the team is hopeful Mike Onwenu could return soon," Callahan said.

Brown is suffering from a calf injury, which led to his being placed on inured reserve, which means that he will miss at least three more games for the season, according to SBNation: Pat's Pulpit. Though Brown is going to be out for three weeks, the team is optimistic about his return. He was already participating in practice in a limited capacity but is being placed on reserve as a cautionary measure.

The Patriots currently sit at 2-3 after a win over the Houston Texans. The team has had an up-and-down season with close losses to the Dolphins and the Buccaneers in a matchup that featured their former franchise quarterback, Tom Brady.

The team stands at a critical juncture in their season and has been somewhat plagued by injuries. They eagerly await the return of Brown, who will help shore up the offensive line upon his return.
