Town of Tamworth issued the following announcement on October 22.
The Tamworth Sewer Commissioner's are seeking individuals to serve as Commissioner's. Two of the Sewer Commissioner's positions are up in December 2021. The Commissioner's would like to have a five(5) member board so that a quorum can be meet at each meeting.
The role of the Commissioner's is to meet monthly to review the system functions, maintain the budget and sign the manifest to pay the bills. Additionally they will formulate each year's budget and user rates based on calculations. The meetings are held on the Third (3rd) Tuesday of each month and last for approximately 1 hour.
At present the Commissioner's take their own minutes, produce the minutes and the manifest as well as all the check deposits and complete the paperwork and documents for the once a year audit.
Commissioner's prepare the report for the Town Report and report to the Board of Selectmen every couple of months.
This is an appointed - stipend term usually 3 years but due to difficulty finding Commissioner's we have allowed one (1) year terms.
