City of Concord: Fix A Leak Week

2

City of Concord issued the following announcement on March 2.

Join us in celebrating EPA WaterSense's Fix A Leak Week, March 14-20, 2022!

A leaky toilet, faucet, showerhead, or irrigation system may seem harmless, but more than 10,000 gallons of water are wasted each year from leaks in the average household. Leaks can waste a lot of water and can lead to outrageous utility bills. Find and fix household water leaks to save water and possibly even money on your water bill.

Get involved for Fix A Leak Week:

Join the #FixaLeak Twitter Party

Join us on Twitter @ConcordNHGS as we kick-off Fix a Leak Week with a Twitter Party! Join us on Monday, March 14 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST as we take part in a national conversation about how to find and fix water leaks. Tweet and follow along using the hashtag #FixaLeak.

Grab a Free Toilet Leak Dye Test Kit

Toilets can be a sneaky culprit for water leaks and high water bills. Often times they can be silent and go undetected until you notice a spike in your water bill. Grab a free Toilet Leak Dye Test Kit at our Utility Billing Office at 311 North State Street to perform a quick and easy leak test on your toilet. Kits will be available as supplies last through March 18, so grab them before they are gone! Or, use your own dye or food coloring at home and follow along to the instructions of our "How To Detect A Toilet Leak" video.

Enter Our Royal Leak Detection Contest

Leaks can be a royal pain! Perform a "royal" leak detection to find and fix household leaks. Enter our Royal Leak Detection contest for a chance to win a new royal "throne" (WaterSense-labeled toilet)! The American Standard Cadet 3 FloWise white elongated toilet uses only 1.28 GPF (gallons per flush) and is certified by EPA WaterSense to use at least 20% less water without sacrificing performance. Enter our contest for a chance to win by sharing with us how you have found and fixed water leaks. To enter, submit a contest entry form online, by mail, or at our office. Another entry option is to share with us in a public social media post how you have found and fixed water leaks. Tag us @ConcordNHGS on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Double your chance to win by entering the contest both ways (social media and contest entry form)! All entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. on March 20, 2022. By entering the contest, you agree to the terms and conditions of our official contest rules.

Be a leak detective for Fix A Leak Week! Common leaks around the home include worn toilet flappers, dripping faucets, and other leaking valves. Most leaks are easy to fix. Sometimes a valve or fixture tightening is all that is needed. Consider upgrading outdated fixtures to a WaterSense-labeled product for improved water efficiency without sacrificing performance.
