Town of Northfield issued the following announcement.
Gravel Road Residents
The Public Works Department like most department throughout New England has been working day and night on our town gravel roads to make them passable. This is very unusual weather for this time of year and they are all managing it the best they can and as Mother Nature allows.
To protect the gravel roads from further damage, the Town has instructed Casella Waste to not collect curbside trash collection this week (Tuesday 3/22 and Thursday 3/24) on any gravel roads.
We will monitor the road conditions and will inform you on trash collection for next week and any alternatives that may need to be implemented. We will allow this week’s trash to be accumulated for next week’s pickup on gravel roads only.
