Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce: CATCH Receives Lincoln Financial Foundation Grant

Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on March 21.

CATCH Neighborhood Housing is pleased to share that it has received a generous grant of $25,000 from the Lincoln Financial Foundation in support of their collaborative housing education program, HOMEteam.

Created in 2014, HOMEteam is a partnership between CATCH, NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire, and Lakes Region Community Developers to provide residents throughout New Hampshire with tools and education for purchasing, renting, and maintaining a home. Even throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, HOMEteam continues to offer high-quality workshops like First-time Homebuyer and Financial Capabilities seminars, one-on-one counseling, and other resources to help buyers and renters.

“We are very grateful for the continued and increased support of Lincoln Financial Foundation, which has been a key supporter of HOMEteam since its creation,” said CATCH’s President and CEO, Tom Furtado. “Now more than ever, Lincoln Financial Foundation’s support will enable more families to develop skills to make sound financial decisions related to homebuying and improve their lives; we are so grateful for their support of these important programs.”

Despite inflated home prices and very low inventory, in 2021 HOMEteam staff helped at least 25 families successfully buy a home and supported 4 households with down payment assistance. They also empowered 118 households with online home buyer seminars, financial capabilities workshops, and landlord/fair housing trainings, not to mention other counseling services.

“Lincoln Financial Foundation awards grants to hundreds of nonprofits each year that empower and improve the lives of people in their communities,” said Nancy Rogers, SVP, Corporate Responsibility and President, Lincoln Financial Foundation. “Contributing to strong, vital communities is not only intrinsic to our values, it’s our responsibility.” This grant is part of Lincoln Financial Foundation’s $10 million investment in its local communities in 2021.
