A heartbroken Danish sculptor gives a gift without measure to the town where his late wife enjoyed summers. A daughter pays tribute to her father, killed in the War Between the States. A father's mourning for his son, lost at sea in the Second World War, becomes a symbol of hope for all of New Hampshire
These are just some of the stories in New Hampshire War Monuments: The Stories Behind the Stones. The book explores the stories behind New Hampshire's war monuments, memorials and other tributes to her war dead. From the border with Canada to the border with Massachusetts, we'll look at the way the Granite State honors those who made the supreme sacrifice.
