2023 Proposed Zoning Changes | Amherst Indy

The Planning Board has been working to modify the Zoning Ordinance for several months.
1. Creating a Commercial/Industrial Zone 2 in the area of the Rt. 140 Corridor, this is to eliminate the allowance of residential use.
2. Changing the Forrest Rd C/I Zone to a C/I-1 Zone, this is a name change only.
3. Continuing the 500' R-1 set back into the Conservation Zone on all Class V or Better Roads (excluding I-93).
4. Changing the R-1 Zone to Conservation Zone around Knowles Pond.
5. Expanding the R-2 Zone from I-93 and along Scribner Rd to meet the Master Plan.
6. Removing the requirement for a Special Exception to add an ADU to your property, as these requirements can be handled with a Building Permit.
7. Under Special Exceptions removing the Criteria "Such other factors as may be appropriate", as this does not fit the NH RSA.
8. Creating a Complex Sign for Commercial / Industrial complexes (such as South Park Dr., Industrial Dr., Riverfront Business Park).
