Women make up majority of population in Merrimack County in 2021

Of the 152,983 people living in Merrimack County, New Hampshire in 2021, 50.4% (77,095) were women and 49.6% (75,888) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by Concord Ledger.

Data showed the average age for women in Merrimack County in 2021 was 44 years, higher than the national average of 40 for women.

According to census data, despite women being more prevalent in Merrimack County during 2021, men aged 18 and over outnumbered women in the same age group by 915. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 12,745 men and 15,336 women.
