Merrimack County’s 174 coaches earned an average salary of $42,041 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the third lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at New Hampshire post-secondary schools during 2022.

Merrimack County is home to four post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Southern New Hampshire University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $60,024.

Male coaches of men's teams received $43,595 on average in Merrimack County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $39,317.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
